Today's tomato harvest

Postby HeidiPG » Tue Sep 27, 2016 3:06 pm

from the greenhouse. Varieties are Old German (orange), Black Prince and Celebrity (biggest). These are more than we can eat fresh in time, so about 3/4 will be roasted to be frozen.

Me too...I picked the very last of the Grape toms...sad to say. I hate the thought of having to buy them, from now on.

Laura, you made me laugh with the appetizer tray comment - that's over 6 lbs of tomatoes on the placemat.

Those look great, Heidi. I had an amazing tomato growing season too. Made six batches of salsa. Grew way too many cherry tomatoes. I tried a new variety this year that's going to be a keeper: Cherokee Green.
